Education Council
The College and Institute Act requires that each educational institution in British Columbia create an Education Council. The Act describes three types of roles and responsibilities for Council. They are:
- the sole responsibility to set curriculum content as well as certain policies and criteria as identified under the Act;
- the joint responsibility with the Board on matters of curriculum evaluation related to course transfer as identified under the Act and other responsibilities of the Board that, on the initiative of the Board, the Board and the Council agree are subject to joint approval;
- an advisory role, responsible for advising the Board on the development of educational policies as identified under the Act.
Meeting Schedule
Education Council meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month except July & August, and will alternate at the Broadway and Downtown Campus.
