English 0861 is the first half of Advanced or English 11. This course concentrates on grammar, punctuation, paragraphs, short essays and modern literature.

Prerequisite: English 10 and required score on VCC ABE assessment

Note: Communications 11 is not equivalent to English 0861 and 0871. Students with Communications 12 only require English 0871 for English 11 equivalency
