Communication for Engineering and Technology (ELSK 0730)
This course is designed to improve the functional language of English as a Second Language Learners who have been educated internationally for a variety of occupations in engineering and technology. The emphasis of the course is on improving speaking and listening skills while expanding the vocabulary, socio-cultural competency and knowledge of the Canadian engineering and technology field. Upon completion of this course students may choose to continue in the ESL Self-Paced program, working towards Technical and Professional English 12.
Requirements: Completion of Upper Advanced or equivalent OR, completion of English Language Assessment with an overall score of 105/200 and a minimum 23 in Speaking, OR Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 7 OR, Department Approval
