Applied Music – Contemporary Bass I (MUSC 1186)

This course is the first of a sequence that covers the study of the bass guitar or double bass in the jazz/contemporary field.  Topics include music-reading, scales and modes, arpeggios, a variety of musical styles and interpretation, systems of fingering, walking bass, technique, writing bass lines, transcription techniques, professionalism, listening analysis and performance in master classes.
