Foodsafe Level 1
This component follows the course dealing with personal hygiene and health as students learn the basics of sanitary food handling and the procedures and conditions necessary for the prevention of food borne illness.
Being aware of the need for safety is important on every work site. Students are provided with the knowledge and skills to comply with safety policies. Students learn emergency procedures, personal safety, safe use of equipment, knife handling, proper lifting, dry and wet spill clean up, the basics of WHMIS, and how to perform lockout.
