Work at VCC
Vancouverites have spoken.
In the Georgia Straight’s annual Best of Vancouver issue, Vancouver Community College was chosen by readers as the top post-secondary school in Metro Vancouver to train for careers in travel/tourism and hospitality, repeating last year’s win.
Voters in the online survey -- conducted over the summer -- also said VCC is among the top three professional culinary schools in the region.
Hear what our graduates say:
"VCC’s hospitality management courses are broad enough that I was able to get insights into various types of careers in the hospitality and tourism industry. The skills learned are very transferrable and the courses practical and informative." – Stacy Chala, communications manager, Capilano Group of Companies
“VCC instructors are knowledgeable, connected to the industry and very supportive. The networking opportunities are endless and extremely important in helping me get to where I am today.” - Amanda Young, event planner, Marriott Hotels and Resorts
"The curriculum and advice from instructors are current and relevant. I believe I had an edge over other job candidates because I’m a VCC graduate.” Kelly Hammond, group sales coordinator, Westin Bayshore
VCC hospitality students get hands-on training at several on-campus facilities that are open to the public, including a bakery, cafeteria, and two full-service restaurants.
