Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions about our application process. If your question is still not answered, please contact the Registrar's Office.

Click register or waitlist on the course you intend to register for and choose the pathway of a new VCC apprentice or Existing VCC apprentice or alumni. 

You will need the following to register as an apprentice.

  • A VCC account ­­­– if you have one but don’t remember it, please phone 604.871.7041.
  • Your personal information, including:
    • Name, address, and contact information
    • Citizenship
    • Social Insurance Number (SIN)*
  • Your ITA number assigned to you by the Industry Training Authority
  • Credit card or banking information for fee payment

*Starting in the 2019 tax year, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requires all post-secondary institutions to collect Social Insurance Numbers (SIN) for Tuition and Enrolment Certificate tax forms (T2202). Learn more >

New or returning apprentices apply and/or register online through your apprentice program page.


It is your responsibility to check your application status to ensure that you have met submission deadlines of admission requirements.

  • All admission requirements are listed in your application on your myVCC.
  • All admission requirements are listed on each specific program page.
  • Remaining admission requirements are emailed to your preferred email after you submit an admission requirement.

Yes, you can log in back into the application process at any time using the ID you created with EducationPlannerBC.



When you have received your VCC student number and password you will be able to check your application status.


 In person applications:   VCC accepts payment for application by credit card, debit card, cash or cheque.

 Online applications:        Educational Planner accepts payment by credit card only.


You should submit your criminal record check request through the Ministry of Justice using the code you were provided in your notification email upon becoming a VCC applicant. 


For non-competitive entry programs, seats are offered in the order in which completed applications are received. If more than one applicant completes their application on the same day, the order of offer will be determined by Grade Point Average (GPA). Applicants who receive a letter of acceptance must pay their seat deposit in order to confirm their seat in the program. If the seat deposit is not paid, they may lose their seat. 

For competitive entry programs, seats are offered to applicants according to admissions criteria such as GPA, auditions, and portfolios. A deposit must be paid in order to secure the seat in the program.

 


Check your email:

  • You will receive an automated email to your preferred email account to confirm your application, this email will provide instructions on how to login to myVCC
  • You will receive an automated email in regards to the status of your application.  

Check your application status online by logging into your myVCC account:

  • It is your responsibility to to check your application status at any time during your application process and provide all admission requirements needed in person or by mail. 

Only applications that have met all admission requirements by the start of term will be considered for a seat offer provided there are seats still available.


Congratulations! Now it's time for you to secure your seat,  register and pay tuition fees. You can choose to:

Accepted in a program

  1. Confirm your intention by paying the amount owing on letter on or before the date indicated in your letter. You can pay in person or online at myVCC.ca – All fees are subject to change without notice. Should fees increase, students are required to pay the increased rates. If you can’t make the payment on time or wish to cancel/ postpone to a later start date, please contact the Admission’s Office 
  2. Once the schedules are available, you will be registered into the program (this usually happens within three months of the program start date).
  3. When you have been registered, you will be sent an email to check your myvcc.caaccount for your installment dates and amounts owing (be advised, that some programs have additional costs for tools and supplies, see the program web page for details).*
  4. Once you are registered, your schedule can be viewed through myvcc.ca; and you will receive separate emails with information about attending your program at VCC.

Accepted in course registration

  1. On the date(s) specified in your letter, register and pay for your courses in person.
  2. On the date(s) specifed in your letter, register and pay for your courses online using your myVCC account.  Follow the instructions provided in your acceptance letter. Instructions are also available online‌.

VCC receives your application online from EducationPlannerBC, or in person  

Upon receipt of your application, you will be assigned and emailed your VCC student number and password. 

Your VCC student number will be used in all communication and services to and from VCC . You will need your student number to log into your myVCC  account to check your application status, change your personal information and to register.


myVCC is the college intranet system accessible by all students, staff and applicants.

You will use this system a lot during your time at VCC to check your application status as an applicant, then as a student you will be able to register for upcoming courses, pay fees, access course materials, check grades and much more. You will need to use your permanent student ID number and a password to log in.
