When you share a household with other people, you may need to discuss some boundaries or sharing of household duties that will support your online learning.

  • Discuss how childcare and household duties will be shared.
  • Set up a schedule if your computer/device is being used by multiple people.
  • Ask family members or housemates for support in respecting your study time.
  • Remind housemates when you're in virtual class meetings and should not be disturbed. You may want to make a "do not disturb" sign.

Parking at the Broadway campus will be free to those who need to be on site. Payroll deductions for the Downtown campus or cross-campus parking have been suspended until the end of April 2020.

All activities are operational and will be conducted online or by phone. Inquiries can be made by email.

When your home space also becomes your primary learning and study space, it's important to create a separate "work space", if possible. This can improve your motivation and productivity, and help with mentally setting course work aside when it's time to relax. Follow this checklist:

  • Choose a location that is as quiet and distraction-free as possible.
  • Think about lighting. Good lighting helps prevent eye strain and is important for video quality if you're using your webcam. Natural lighting is best, but a desk lamp can be great too.
  • Are you close to an outlet for power? Is your WIFI signal strong enough or do you need to plug into your internet router?
  • Think about ergonomics. Do you have a comfortable table and chair, or seating/standing where you can stay alert? Usually upright seating or standing is best. Avoid studying from your bed, if possible.
  • Your computer monitor should be 20-30 inches away from your eyes and the top of the monitor should be level with your eyes.
  • Gather the tools you will need (pens, pencils, calculator, notebooks, headphones, etc). Make sure you have space for notebooks next to your device.
