Orientation to online learning website for VCC students
The Library, Learning Centre and Counselling are happy to announce that the new orientation to online learning website for VCC students is now live! https://www.vcc.ca/keep-learning/. This project was a collaboration between the Library, Learning Centre and Counselling with support from the VCC web team and marketing.
The purpose of the orientation website is to help students thrive in the world of online learning. The orientation website includes information like setting up a productive work space and logging into your College account; becoming familiar with Moodle, Zoom, Kaltura and Office 365; online learning strategies like time management and building your virtual learning community; understanding academic integrity including plagiarism and referencing; and self-care along with a list of VCC’s numerous student supports.
This website will be included in the International Education newsletter this week to new international students and it will likely be going out in the welcome email from the Registrar’s Office to all incoming students in late August.
Please feel free to include the website in your own departmental emails to incoming students or use the resources and videos included in the site within your Moodle courses.
We also plan to continue to develop this site over time and welcome feedback on future suggestions for content to include in the site. You can send comments and feedback, or questions to esimpson@vcc.ca
