Vancouver Community College’s Management Skills for Supervisors Certificate provides practical, up-to-date supervisory/management training in three core areas: Interpersonal Communication Skills, Team Skills, and Essential Management Skills.
Exploring topics vital to personal and organizational success, students learn to lead and motivate teams to achieve maximum productivity through the use of supervisory management skills in the areas of performance management, motivation, team development, coaching, delegating, communication, and interpersonal dynamics.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of the Management Skills for Supervisors Certificate, students will be able to:
INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES, DESIGN AND DELIVERY MODE
Courses involve lectures, presentations, discussions, practical examples, and individual and group work. Learning will be enhanced by a variety of interactive classroom activities, collaborative team activities, and case studies.
The interactive and practical exercises give students the opportunity to take an active role and “learn by doing”.
Three semesters: one 24-hour course is offered each semester.

Upon successful completion of this program, and once an application for graduation has been submitted to the registrar’s office, the student will receive a Vancouver Community College Management Skills for Supervisors Certificate.
Graduates may ladder into BCIT's part-time Certificate Programs in Leadership, Human Resource Management, or Business Management.

The Leadership, Administration and Management (LAM) course offers specific child care management and administration training for professionals who work (or plan to work) as child care program supervisors, managers, coordinators or directors.

As a front-line supervisor useful communication with staff and effective management of the dynamic interpersonal relationships have a significant impact on worksite productivity. This course will provide you an opportunity to identify your own communication preferences and learn how to build positive accountable relationships with individuals and groups in the workplace. Good leadership begins with effective self-leadership. This course focuses on interpersonal and communication skills; on completion students will have developed a practical understanding and participated in skill-building exercises related to interpersonal communication skills.
