Program Description

This is a two-year diploma designed for students who wish to obtain employment in the consumer electronics repair industry as a computer repair technician, television repair technician, appliance repair technician and mobile device repair technician. Students will receive training through practical training on the latest appliances to operate, diagnose, and service Samsung products.

This program welcomes applications from Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Program options for international students can be found at VCC International.

As Vancouver Community College is a post-secondary institution committed to educating adult learners, applicants should be 16 years of age or older or a graduate of a secondary school.

Program Specific

Missing prerequisites? VCC offers courses in Adult Upgrading and English as an Additional Language to help you meet your goals.
  1. English 11 with a C-, or Academic IELTS 6.0 overall (no band less than 5.5) or TOEFL iBT 70 or equivalent
  2. Apprentice and workplace Math 10 with a C-
  3. Or Department Leader approval based on relevant trade experience

Recommended Characteristics:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English
  • Good finger and hand dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination for working with small electronic components
  • Good logical and numerical problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to understand and follow problem-solving aptitude
  • Methodical and well organized
  • Personal hygiene suitable to a customer service environment
