Description
This course introduces students to lifting and supporting loads, servicing seals and bearings, and removal and installation of undercarriage. It also covers the removal, installation, and servicing of final drives. Topics included are from SkilledTradesBC. Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation Program (2025) sections A5, A8, E11, I18 and I21.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply occupational health and safety regulations (A5)
- Determine load weight and select appropriate lifting and hoisting equipment to lift, support and move loads (A5)
- Describe and service bearings, seals, and sealants (A5)
- Describe and maintain lubricants and perform fluid analysis (A5)
- Remove and install undercarriage (E11)
- Service and repair final drives (I18)
- Remove and Install final drives (I21)
