Description
This course introduces students to the principals of Hydraulics, basic operation of Hydraulic systems, types of hydraulic systems, and the interpretation of hydraulic diagrams. Topics included are from SkilledTradesBC. Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation Program (2025) sections C1, C2, and C3.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the principals of hydraulics and the basic operation and types of hydraulic systems and components (C1)
- Demonstrate safe work procedures (C2)
- Service hydraulic systems (C2)
- Interpret basic hydraulic diagrams (C3)
- Select and assemble hydraulic fluids, hose and fittings (C2)
- Perform calculations (C1)
