Description
Students will discover how virtualization and cloud technologies support real-world IT infrastructure operations. In this course, students will deploy virtual machines, configure secure cloud resources and use automation to streamline deployments. Students will also practice backup and recovery planning and evaluate cost‑efficient design choices, preparing them to work confidently in hybrid enterprise environments.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Configure and deploy virtual desktop infrastructure with hypervisor technology and thin-clients.
- Configure and secure cloud-native environments using major cloud service providers ensuing functional connectivity and security segmentation.
- Apply resource optimization strategies for virtualized or cloud workloads using tools and right-sizing techniques that support scalability and cost efficiency.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools to streamline deployment and maintain configuration consistency.
- Apply backup and disaster recovery strategies, verifying restoration procedures to meet organizational continuity requirements.
- Document cloud architecture and configurations using clear diagrams and version-controlled documentation.

PLAR is assessed through one or more of the following methods: challenge exam, student portfolio/products, demonstration/simulation, project-based asessment, or through another assessment method that is aligned with the course learning outcomes.
