Description
In this course, students will be introduced to industry recognized project management methodologies recognized by the Project Management Institute, such as, but not limited to, work breakdown structure (WBS), GANTT charts, and RAID Log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies). Students will integrate the skills and knowledge that they have learned in the course in a final simulated cybersecurity project. Additionally, students will practice their communication skills to facilitate project management activities, such as team events and stakeholder interviews.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Discuss key project management methodologies including their importance in achieving organizational objectives
- Explain the importance of developing a project management plan and monitoring project delivery
- Describe the three areas of the project management triangle (scope, cost, time) including how they relate to one another
- Compare the benefits and drawbacks between predictive and adaptive project management methods
- Discuss different project management tools and software in the context of delivering a GRC and cybersecurity projects
- Demonstrate gathering requirements for simple projects through stakeholder interviews
- Outline a project plan using a work breakdown structure
- Describe methods for managing various stakeholders in a project-based environment
- Apply project management methodologies to example cybersecurity related situations
- Demonstrate stakeholder and team management techniques and communication
Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR)
PLAR is assessed through:
1) Challenge exam; or proof of active CAPM or higher certification; and
2) portfolio review showcasing their project management experience related to cybersecurity, GRC, or information technology
