Description
This course covers the proper installation procedures for electrical and mechanical components. These installation procedures will meet all electrical code requirements as well B-52 Mechanical Code conditions. Students will work on electrical control boards as well as actual operational equipment.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Connect Single-Phase Motors (CSR, CSIR, PSC, shaded pole)
- Install electrical controls including high/low pressure switches, compressor motor, defrost timers, liquid line solenoid, thermostats, defrost termination switch, oil failure control, fan switch, evaporator fan motors, and evaporator defrost/drain heaters
- Troubleshoot electrical control circuits
- Install mechanical components and perform start-up procedures
Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR)
Methods of assessment may include a challenge exam, submission of a product or portfolio for review, or a practical demonstration. Please contact the Department for details.

Instructional Strategies
A combination of lecture, demonstration, simulations, problem solving, practical lab activities and reflective discussion will be used throughout this course.
