Description
This course builds on the skills gained in Dental Assisting Practice 1 and 2 with continued practice opportunities for clinical support, and direct patient care. Students will be integrating all the LDA clinical skills, concepts of professional conduct, safe practice, and effective communication in preparation for Patient Care Clinic.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply the principles of infection control in dental assisting practice.
- Demonstrate appropriate professional conduct in the clinical setting.
- Apply critical thinking skills to problems and decision making while dental assisting for advanced restorative, specialty procedures, and direct client care.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with clients and the dental team.
- Demonstrate effective use of dental armamentarium for advanced dental assisting practice.
- Perform advanced clinical skills competently and safely.
- Manage dental records accurately and in compliance with the Dental Recordkeeping Guidelines.
