PHAR 2115: Pharmaceutical Calculations 2
Effective date
January 2027
Department
Pharmacy Technician
Description
This course builds on foundational pharmacy calculation skills and focuses on the advanced calculations required for preparing pharmaceutical products in a hospital setting. Students will explore principles including alligation, volume of displacement, flow rates, infusion times, and parenteral nutrition. Students will expand their knowledge to calculations for specialty groups involving nomograms, pediatric dosing, and chemotherapy dosing. Students will critically apply mathematical principles to ensure safe and effective medication administration.
