Description
This course builds upon foundational management skills and focuses on the strategic and operational aspects of pharmacy management. Students will develop leadership skills necessary for effective personnel management and fostering a collaborative work environment. Students will also explore advanced topics such as creating schedules, improving workflow efficiencies, and performance appraisals. Students will discuss complex issues in pharmacy management, including emergency preparedness planning, handling drug shortages, and implementing risk management strategies to ensure patient safety and compliance.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify appropriate management tools in pharmacy practice situations. (1)
- Describe and apply effective leadership skills in pharmacy practice situations. (2)
- Demonstrate effective personnel management techniques. (3)
- Create pharmacy dispensary work schedules. (4)
- Plan a pharmacy staff meeting. (5)
- Manage pharmacy workflow for efficiency and accuracy. (6)
- Prepare for emergencies and drug shortages. (7)
