Description
Building on the skills and comeptencies developed in PHAR 2260, this course provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world pharmacy settings. Students will engage in hands-on experiences in both community and hospital pharmacies. Students will integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications. By working in professional environments, students will refine their skills and demonstrate readiness for safe and effective practice as pharmacy technicians.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Perform the role of a pharmacy technician within current legal, ethical and professional standards. (1)
- Establish professional relationships with patients and healthcare providers in order to optimize pharmaceutical care. (2)
- Prepare pharmaceutical products safely and accurately using a variety of distribution systems. (3)
- Demonstrate effective management skills in the practice setting to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy services. (4)
- Integrate health promotion and public health initiatives into pharmacy practice. (5)
- Demonstrate the ability to access and apply relevant information and knowledge to make evidence-informed decisions in pharmacy practice. (6)
- Use effective communication and professionalism when providing education to or collaborating with healthcare providers and patients. (7)
- Establish and maintain collaborative intra- and inter-professional relationships. (8)
- Apply quality assurance policies, procedures and activities to optimize patient safety. (9)
