Description
This course introduces the learner to the dental specialties and considerations for geriatric dentistry. The role of the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), related dental equipment, instruments and armamentaria for dental specialty procedures are introduced. Patient management considerations are emphasized.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Discuss endodontic dentistry as it relates to procedures, equipment, instruments, and patient management.
- Discuss orthodontic dentistry as it relates to procedures, equipment, instruments, and patient management.
- Discuss periodontic dentistry as it relates to procedures, equipment, instruments, and patient management.
- Discuss oral and maxillofacial surgery and hospital dentistry as it relates to procedures, equipment, instruments, and patient management.
- Discuss pediatric dentistry as it relates to procedures, equipment, instruments, and patient management.
- Discuss considerations for geriatric procedures as it relates to procedures, equipment, instruments, and patient management.
- Discuss prosthodontic dentistry as it relates to procedures, equipment, instruments, and patient management.

Instructional Strategies
