Description
This course introduces students to foundational principles and concepts of dental implant technology. The emphasis is on an interdisciplinary approach to dental implant treatment for edentulous clients. Knowledge is applied through the design, fabrication, processing and repair of implant supported dentures.

Successful completion of all term 1, 2, 3 and 4 courses.

DEND 3101; DEND 3103; DEND 3105.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Discuss the history of Dental Implants.
- Explain the concepts and principles of Dental Implant technology.
- Identify Dental Implant components.
- Demonstrate the design and fabrication of implant supported dentures.
- Apply digital applications when designing an implant supported denture.
- Develop hygiene protocol for clients with Dental Implant supported dentures.
- Demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach to Dental Implant treatment planning.
