Description
The Certified Dental Assisting (CDA) Refresher course will provide an opportunity for those lacking in hours of clinical practice to demonstrate competency of skills and therefore meet requirement for licensure in BC.

Previously licensed as a Certified Dental Assistant in British Columbia or equivalent.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe professionalism as it relates to BC CDA regulation
- Describe practice standards and ethics as they relate to CDA practice
- Expose dental radiographs
- Apply and removes dental dam
- Perform selective coronal polishing
- Obtain preliminary impressions
- Apply treatment liners (no pulpal involvement)
- Apply and remove matrixes and wedges
- Apply fluoride
- Apply pit and fissure sealant
- Apply desensitizing agents
- Apply topical anaesthetic
- Perform tooth whitening using trays
- Remove periodontal dressing
- Remove sutures
