DENT 2340: Removable Prosthetics 2

Description
In this course, students will create complete, partial and immediate dentures, as well as overdentures. The course will include working with these dentures in a variety of situations and degrees of difficulty. Maxillofacial prostheses will also be discussed. Traditional and digital applications will be integrated into the design and fabrication processes.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze, design and fabricate complete and removable partial dentures.
- Perform quality control prior to releasing a dental prosthesis or an appliance in a simulation laboratory environment.
- Apply the principles of rotational paths of insertion for removable partial dentures.
- Identify and communicate any limitations and contraindications of the proposed treatment plan.
- Analyze and design an immediate denture.
- Analyze and design an over denture prostheses.
- Demonstrate fundamental skills and knowledge of using digital software to design partial and complete dentures.
