Description
In this course students build on the architectural principles by applying the appropriate building codes and wood theory of wood framing residential structures. Students continue to prepare drawings of assemblies and structural elements for the remaining portion for a set of single-family residence drawing package.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- List the construction categories commonly used in residential family homes
- Identify appropriate categories and sections found in Part 9 of the BC Building Code (BCBC)
- Identify the major building assemblies
- Describe standard terminology, abbreviations and symbols used in Architectural drawings
- Identify views used on foundation plans, section views and detail views
- Identify graphic conventions to represent building practices and elements in drawings
- Identify building views using the correct CAD tools and format
- Apply these concepts and processes at a higher level in a 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) software
