Description

This courses introduces students to a variety of Canadian/non-Canadian, classic and modern short stories. Students also read classic and modern poems and learn about poetic literary devices. Through these works, students learn to identify a variety of literary devices and elements, including symbol, theme, character, irony, historical context, and setting. Students learn how to write, research, and edit essays and paragraphs. Students also develop presentation and critical thinking skills. Both ENGL 0981 and ENGL 0991 are required for completion of ABE Provincial level English (Literature)
