Description
This course introduces students to the knowledge and skills of an effective Wedding Planner. Explore all aspects of wedding planning from its inception to execution through venue selection, decor and flowers to vendor selection, rentals and menu design. Acquire basic business fundamental such as setting up shop, marketing and social media, contract design and negotiating practices.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate effective leadership, organizational and communication skills as they relate to wedding planning
- Differentiate various wedding design concepts and protocol for each (style, theme, culture)
- Explore various bridal attire (style, theme, culture)
- Source suppliers and vendors for elemental and logistical requirements such as rentals, staging, decor, performers, photographers, security, audio/visuals and presenters.
- Select venue and design menu plan to accommodate event requirements
- Differentiate the various types of food and beverage services and estimate food & beverage costs
- Produce contracts and demonstrate effective negotiating practices
- Produce budgets, schedules and contingency plans to allow for clarity and organization
- Obtain appropriate licensing, permits, and insurance requirements for various events.
- Acquire basic business fundamentals to start a wedding planning business (marketing, social media, business ethics contract & negotiations)
