Description
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to components, properties, production, application, and care of a variety of apparel fabrics. Students apply and demonstrate their understanding of these concepts through practical applications. The course will also examine innovations and ethical issues in the textile industry.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe textile production from fibre to finished fabric
- Discuss the properties of various fibres and fabrics
- Apply fabric knowledge to the product development process
- Discuss applications of textile laws and regulations
- Discuss ethical and environmental issues in the industry
- Demonstrate an appreciation of the cultural significance of textiles
