Description
This course builds on content from other courses to assist students to explore concepts and care-giving approaches that allow them to work effectively with individuals experiencing cognitive or mental challenges. The emphasis in this course is on supporting clients with dementia, recognizing responsive behaviours and identifying person-centred intervention strategies.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe ways to organize, administer and evaluate person-centred care and assistance for clients experiencing cognitive health challenges (dementia).
- Describe ways to organize, administer and evaluate person-centred care and assistance for clients experiencing mental health challenges (other than dementia).
- Demonstrate an understanding of effective approaches to disruptive or abusive behaviours.
