Description
Through guided discussions, digital media, student led seminars and research assignments, students will explore current influences shaping the world of Interior design. Students will become familiar with the Interior design profession, designers ideologies and related employment opportunities within the industry. Presentation and communication skills will be practiced as well as the necessary and important collaboration crucial to success within this field.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify twenty first century designers and their ideologies
- Relate information about designers and the interior design profession and related industry
- Practice effective presentation/communication skills
- Classify and discuss current designers and design trends
- Recognize cultural influences within current design trends
- Express the influences behind current design trends
- Name designers of interest and discuss their ideologies
- Recognize the importance of continued research & professional development
