Description
Building on the prerequisite, this course presents a set of strategies and skills to leader-coaches, who must expand their capacity to assist individuals and teams in order to achieve practical outcomes. Learn when to use skill and/or motivational coaching and how to conduct collaborative, focused performance discussions; help employees overcome obstacles; and develop skills in self-management, creative collaboration, and accountability.
Prerequisites
Coaching for High Performance (LEAD 1115).
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Practice what you’ve learned in your previous leadership coaching sessions
- Assess appropriate coaching style/skills for each performance situation
- Use your coaching skills with confidence in work situations
- Coach motivational issues
- Use the ‘3 C’s’ in developing a coaching plan (create, collaborate, commit)
- Assist the employee in taking the necessary actions to achieve their plan
- Develop a leadership coaching action plan
