Description
This course focuses on proficiency in the transcription of medical specialty reports and introduces additional medical terminology relating to those specialties. Students learn how to access appropriate electronic medical resources and references to verify dictation.
This course is part of the full-time Medical Office Assistant Program

Prerequisites
MEDC 1102, MEDC 1121, MEDC 1132, MEDC 1135, MEDC 1136, and MEDC 1140.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply proofreading and editing skills
- Demonstrate computer skills including medical and business computer applications (e.g. word processing, data management
- Transcribe medical reports utilizing a keyboarding speed at the level required by current professional standards

- 1. Pharmacology names and dosages
