Description
This course engages students in a detailed study of basic marketing principles and their application in a variety of local and global contexts. Students develop a conceptual understanding of strategic marketing planning, including the effective use of the marketing mix (product, promotion, pricing, and distribution).

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Use marketing terminology accurately and effectively
- Use different frameworks to perform a critical analysis of a marketing situation
- Define market segments that have the most desirable potential for business
- Use the marketing mix to develop a marketing strategy
- Describe the relative strengths and weaknesses of different elements within the marketing mix
- Discuss the importance of global marketing
- List the basic elements involved in developing a global marketing mix
- Apply ethical decision-making in marketing and publicity that considers sustainability issues
- Identify emerging trends in marketing
