Description
This course involves the study of management principles, concepts and techniques. Students will examine applications and problems from actual business cases and focus on management practices applied to work environments.
This course also explores human and organizational behaviour theory as it applies in the business workplace. Students will learn skills and techniques to help organizations function more effectively and efficiently.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain how modern management evolved
- Describe decision-making fundamentals
- Identify and apply strategic management concepts
- Discuss the importance of developing organizational objectives
- Propose organizational structures for specific businesses
- Explain the fundamentals of leadership and human resources management
- Evaluate the opportunities that change creates for organizational behaviour
- Explain how personality influences behaviour in organizations
- Distinguish between organizational citizenship and inappropriate workplace behaviour
- Demonstrate motivational techniques with staff
- Describe the psycho-physiology of the stress cycle and handle personal stress
- Describe and analyze forms and sources of power and politics in organizations
