History and Literature of Music 1205 or Jazz History 1206 or permission.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and describe the musical characteristics of the Baroque and Classical eras
- Identify and describe major musical genres and styles
- Identify selected repertoire by major composers
- Describe the social and cultural contexts of 17th and 18th century music
- Develop introductory skills in musicology
- Identify the major composers, repertoire, and styles of Baroque and Classical eras
