Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Harmonize using four part block voicing techniques for up to five wind instruments.
- Arrange and notate scores and parts for trumpet, trombone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, and rhythm section (piano, bass, guitar, & drums).
- Rhythmically rephrase, embellish and articulate a melody in a jazz/pop style.
- Write introductions, endings, tags, backgrounds, solis, shout choruses
- Use the Macintosh computer and Finale music notation software for the generation of parts and scores for all arrangements.
