Description
Individual instruction is given in the student's major performance area. Included in this area, in addition to private lessons, is a master class for all students in the performance area. A jury exam must be performed each term and forms part of the credit. 0:1:0

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify, describe and use the rudiments of classical vocal technique
- Identify, describe and use the rudiments of classical vocal style
- Identify, describe and use the rudiments of performance preparation
- Identify, describe and use the rudiments of performance dramatic skills
- Identify and describe various facets of vocal literature.
- Identify, describe and use methods to improve learning of musical elements
- Prepare their own songs for performance
- Sing classical repertoire with its lyric diction requirements

Instructional Strategies
Private instruction in technique, repertoire, style and diction. In addition, there is a weekly Master Class where students perform the repertoire they are working on for the other Classical Voice majors.
