Description
This course provides students with the concepts, tools, and techniques to continuously improve project management processes and procedures, apply Business Process Management techniques, and learn quality and Lean principles to deliver value for customers.
Students will become familiar with concepts like Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, ISP, TQM, and DMAIC, and how these could improve the quality of their project deliverables.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the foundations of quality and process improvement and describe how Lean principles, tools, and techniques can be applied to dramatically improve project success and affect organization bottom-line
- Explain tools, techniques, and standards for continuous process improvement such as Lean and Six sigma
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Score Cards to measure the performance of a working process
- Explain concepts like Kaizen, Total Quality Management (TQM), Deming Cycle, Design of Experiments (DOE ), and other common quality management techniques or standards
- Explain process improvement methodologies like DMAIC (Process improvement methodology standing for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control)
- Perform process mapping and improve processes by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling them
- Become familiar with relevant continuous improvement certifications and designations that can help them in their career
- Describe value streams and value stream mapping
