Description
This course continues the study of pharmacology and therapeutics. Drugs affecting the gastro-intestinal, genito-urinary and integumentary and immune systems are discussed. Prescription, non-prescription and alternative therapies are included. Home health care products and nutrition is also discussed.
This course is part of the full-time Pharmacy Technician Program.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Discuss the pathophysiology of common disease states.
- Discuss the therapeutic uses of commonly used drugs.
- List the side effects of commonly used drugs.
- Correctly spell the generic and brand name(s) of commonly used drugs.
- Describe commonly used alternative therapies.
- Demonstrate the use of home health care products.
- Discuss the use of nutritional supplements.
