The VCC Foundation is pleased to present a unique fundraising dining experience in support of our VCC Asian Culinary Arts team who will represent Canada at the World Asian Culinary Competition in Taipei, Taiwan.

The dinner will be hosted Monday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m. at JJ’s Restaurant at VCC’s downtown location. The four-course meal will help the team gear up for this year's competition; guests will be treated to the actual competition dishes that will be prepared at the World Championships, which will take place later in June. All funds raised through the event sponsorship and ticket sales will support the training and travel costs for the team. The fundraising goal to support the team is $25,000.

Anchoring this year’s team is returning member Kevin Soo, who took GOLD at the World Masters Championships in Kuching, Malaysia.

“The competition gives us a chance to practice being flexible, and practice time management, self-management and teamwork skills,” says Kevin. “It allows us to express our own creativity, build confidence, and master self-discipline.”

Kevin will be joined by VCC alumni James Cen, Toby Chen, Ken Lu, and coached by VCC Chef instructors Jay Wen, Barry Tsang, and Sonny Ho.

Seating is very limited; tickets are first come first served and are expected to sell out quickly. Due to the nature of the training and meal preparation process, we will be unable to accommodate any allergies or special dietary requirements for the dinner service.
