business meeting

What is an official transcript?

All academic credentials, transcripts and test scores submitted to the college must be official. Unofficial copies may be accepted for initial admissions assessments and conditional offers of admission, but you must provide official copies before receiving an unconditional offer, unless you are notified otherwise.

Transcripts are considered official when they are:

  • received by VCC through mail from the sending institution, and
  • the transcript is in a sealed, untampered envelope, and
  • the transcript has the institutional seal, stamp, or signature.

or

  • received by VCC electronically from the sending institution through a verified transcript service.
