VCC unveils new, refreshed logo

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- It’s more than just the leaves changing at Vancouver Community College (VCC) this fall. VCC is unveiling its refreshed logo today which speaks to the key ingredients that make VCC unique and represents the college’s personality.

"Building Our Brand" is one of four strategic themes in VCC's 2011-2014 Strategic Plan, identified by those within and beyond the Vancouver Community College (VCC) community who believed VCC's potential is unrecognized and untapped, and that branding and marketing could offer one solution.

With this in mind, an RFP process led, in May 2012, to the engagement of an external firm to carry out the development of logo options, which were refined in close collaboration with VCC’s Marketing and Communications team

The logo development, part of VCC’s 2011 – 2014 Strategic Plan, included considerable input from internal and external groups, including staff, faculty, students, administrators, as well as stakeholders from business, industry and the community. The final logo selection represents the voices and insights of over 700 individuals. VCC's new logo

Kathy Kinloch, President, VCC, is excited to launch the new look to students, staff and faculty. “VCC is on a journey; we are engaging in consistent research, feedback and collaboration in order to strategically shape the future of the college. With this refreshed look, and more changes on the way, we are demonstrating our commitment to growing and evolving to meet the changing needs of our students, our communities and industry.”

Strong themes emerged during the logo development process. VCC heard from students that it is seen as diverse, accessible and inclusive. VCC is proud to offer a broad range of language and developmental programs, welcoming learners from all walks of life and celebrating diversity throughout the college.

The logo development captured VCC’s bold, urban location in the heart of Vancouver, and its strong ties to community, and to local business and industry. VCC works closely with some of BC’s most important sectors including health, hospitality and transportation, ensuring VCC graduates are ready to enter the workforce, and become leaders in their chosen field.

The refreshed logo launches today with the public unveil on the website and social media. A new website is under development and applications of the logo, such as signage, will roll out over the next several months.
