Jazz Improvisation II (MUSC 2117)

This course builds upon Jazz Improvisation 1217. Topics include all scales, modes and arpeggios around the circle of 5ths, key modulations, chord/plural substitutions, pan modal and jazz melodic minor scale and their application to altered dominant chords. Repertoire will be drawn from jazz, jazz-fusion and Latin standards.
