Program Description

Program Description

Lessons include demonstrations, guest lectures and real work experience.

In the first term, students learn advanced skills in Microsoft Word, effective business communication, and spreadsheets. There is a strong emphasis on document-related skills: creating, proofreading, managing, and professional formatting. The second term expands practical skills training to include data management, financial record keeping, transcription, and integral office procedures. Students use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and accounting software to complete a variety of assignments to the professional standards expected in an office. To complete the program, students spend time working in an office, business, or organization that requires application of the skills learned in the program.

Classes are generally held Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. (class times are subject to change).
