Honorary Alumnus

Renowned chef and long-time supporter and mentor in the culinary field. Mr. Marti stresses the importance of education as the critical ingredient in ensuring the future of Culinary Arts programs. In addition to winning almost every culinary award imaginable, he has mentored countless young cooks, managed culinary teams, and chaired culinary committees and organizations both in Canada and Internationally.

Career Excellence & Leadership

Innovator and alumnus of VCC's Fashion Arts program runs a highly-successful swimwear line featured in movies and on Sports Illustrated covers.

 

 

Diane Lepawsky
Access & Mentorship

Diane studied Early Childhood Education with VCC and, for over 15 years, has tutored new Canadians right in their homes as a VCC Homefront volunteer.

 

 

Hilda Fernandez Alvarez & Fernando Alvarez
Culture & Community

This husband-wife duo studied English at VCC and have worked tirelessly to promote and build Mexican culture and community in Vancouver.

 

 

Zul Kanji
One to Watch

Zul graduated from the VCC Dental Hygiene program as a valedictorian and is now a UBC professor and prolific researcher and writer.

 

 

Mark Brand
Honorary Alumnus

Mark Brand, responsible for the rebirth of Save on Meats, is a powerful force for change in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Among his many projects, he has provided VCC culinary students with opportunities to apply their skills while helping needy residents of the area.
