Learning for Life

Vancouver Community College (VCC) has been one of B.C.'s major post-secondary institutions for more than 50 years. As our city and our world continue to change around us, VCC's 15,000 students and 1,100 employees also find themselves in increasingly unique positions to serve, to innovate, and to make a difference.

In a vulnerable community, we are the nurses, health care workers, and addictions counsellors who dedicate their hands and hearts to those who are hurting.

In a city renowned for hospitality, we are the cooks, chefs, servers, and hoteliers who shape the tastes and experiences that keep visitors coming back.

In a growing province, we are the apprentices, mechanics, technicians, and designers with the skills to build a sustainable future.

In an injured world, we are the language teachers, adult educators, counsellors, and artists who offer healing and empowerment.

We embrace these opportunities and more, driven by our vision statement: VCC – The first choice for innovative, experiential learning for life. Alongside our community partners and supported by our government and generous donors, VCC will continue to offer the learning—and life—that makes our city flourish.

We acknowledge that the land on which we work and study is the traditional and unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.

VCC President, Peter Nunoda

Over the past four years as president and CEO of Vancouver Community College, my respect has continually grown for our remarkable student body, our passionate employees, and this dynamic city. I am inspired by the hopes and ambitions of this community, and I am grateful for your trust in VCC as we work together to achieve our goals.

As our city and our province continue to face exceptional challenges to community health, affordability, and public education, I am pleased to look back on a year of meaningful partnerships and progress at VCC. Many of these stories are told here, and I am proud to share them.

VCC's connections to the community, industry, and government are what allow us to identify needs and stay at the forefront of education. These partnerships have revealed invisible populations and knocked down barriers to employment, all while offering our students the latest opportunities to thrive in business, culture, and technology.

Work is changing and learning must keep pace. At VCC we are thinking ahead – thinking differently. In our future, we will continue to draw our strength from diversity and reconciliation, creating a solid footing for all, and from there, a launchpad for innovation and excellence.

Thank you for being a part of it.
