Nursing - Professional Development

Experience VCC Join us at Experience VCC on April 24 for free tours and hands-on activities at our Downtown campus.

Are you a LPN, RN or RPN wishing to increase your employability or review and upgrade your skills? Nursing Professional Development courses are specifically designed for Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses working in BC, and for those who are new to the province and require upgrading to meet licensing requirements.

Increase your skill set by taking our popular Foot Care Nursing and IV Therapy and Insertion courses, or our newly revised Physical Assessment for Nurses course. We will also be offering a new Nursing Leadership and Ethics course in 2019.

Distance refresher courses include Pharmacology Review, Transcribing Physician’s Orders, and Distance IV Therapy. All distance courses include course materials and students have 12 weeks to complete their coursework. Registration is on-going for distance courses.

We are pleased to announce that VCC will be offering the award winning course, Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA®) in Dementia Care. GPA is a practical, evidence-based dementia education curriculum that teaches care providers how to use a person-centred, respectful, compassionate and gentle persuasive approach to respond to the behaviours associated with dementia.

Please note: Online registration is not accepted for Foot Care Nursing. Please call the Continuing Studies office to register, at 604.443.8484.
