Gladue Report Writing (GLDU 1209)
An effective and well-balanced Gladue report indicates the Gladue factors that are inherent to an individual's history and lived experiences, and is essential to the judicial system in making well-informed decisions when sentencing First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Non-Status peoples. Subsequently, the Gladue report can play a key role in other social service areas such as case management, and can help guide the individual in their healing journey by acting as a self-reflecting mirror. This course will prepare students to write and present a holistic, individualized, and objective Gladue Report.
