Physicians' Orders 3 (HLUC 1220)
This course examines the principles of pharmacology required to process medication and intravascular orders. Drugs affecting immune, nervous, respiratory, endocrine, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems are discussed, as well as vitamins, cancer therapy and miscellaneous drugs. Total parenteral nutrition and types of intravascular therapy are discussed. Problem-solving techniques for processing medication and intravascular orders are discussed and practised. Students apply theory and principles by processing medication, intravascular and total parenteral nutrition orders.
