Provided is an overview on how to increase your traffic via current search engine optimization (SEO) techniques and monitoring your website activities with Google Analytics. Specifically, how to combine the two to find actionable metrics with which to make informed business and technical decisions. (CMPT 1450) Google AdWords Training n/a credits    $405.02



Create, develop and optimize a professional Google AdWords campaign that sends high quality traffic to a website, round-the-clock, 7 days a week. Topics include Pay per click (PPC) advertising, Quality Score, A/B testing, SEMrush and Optmyzr tools. It is recommended that participants have a website, landing page or Facebook page to which they want to send traffic. Prior AdWords experience is not required. Ideal for small-business owners, entrepreneurs and marketing professionals, or students and beginners who want to develop marketing skills and have a closer look at how to set up search campaigns and remarketing ads.

 

Please note that the course has two-week gap between lessons 3 and 4 for students that wish to go live and run their Google Ads. The two-week period will allow for data collection. It is not compulsory for students to pay for and run their own Google ads; each student will be provided with access to a sample campaign data from the instructor to analyze.

Infographics are a powerful tool to communicate meaning in today's digital content ecosystem. As smartphone usage increases, people are consuming more information quickly - scanning and reading in a cursory fashion. In this environment text alone is no longer as effective, and it is increasingly necessary to capture the viewer's attention with visual content to deliver information and have it retained. Infographics are the perfect tool to do this as they are visually appealing, interactive, and easily understandable. They are the "hook" that makes viewers stop, take notice, and invites them to engage more substantively with information. Students will learn design principles for effective communication through infographics and will utilize data sets for designing charts through Google Drive. Participants are required to have Google Drive accounts. (3 hours)
